King City High School Announcements


Students, if you are leaving class to use the restroom, please leave your phone in your classroom. Students using their phone on the way to the restroom or on the way back to class will have their phones confiscated by security until the end of the day. Repeat offenders will serve detention.

Pro Youth is still accepting applications for their after-school program. For more information stop by room 172.

Friendly reminder. All restrooms have Halo sensors that detect vaping activity. Smoking of any type is prohibited. If you are caught vaping or with a vaping device your parents will be notified, and you could be referred to Sun St Center.

Attention all students, do you need help with your classes? There is free tutoring in the library from 3:15 to 4:45. Please stop by and get help. Remember tutoring in the library every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 3:15 with Mr. Millar and Ms. Perez.

Attention students do not forget to go to Sun Street Center today after school to meet with the STEPS program. If anyone is interested in joining the STEPS after school program and earn community service hours, please stop by Sun Street Center today after school and sign up.

Students, please do not bring expensive things to school that you do not want to lose. The school is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Leave your valuables at home, do not bring them to school.

Attention Students Education Code 51512 Prohibits the use of recording devices in secondary school classrooms and PE lock rooms without the consent of the teacher and principal. This includes students, and any other person who willfully violates the section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

• Tryouts for Girls Basketball will start Monday November 4th from 6-8 at the gym.
• Tryouts for Boys Basketball will start Monday November 4th at 3:15 at the gym.
• Tryouts for Girls Soccer will start Monday November 4th at 3:15 at the stadium.

Congratulations to our 2024 PCAL Champion Girls Flag Football team! With playoff wins over Palma, Salinas High, and Watsonville the girls were crowned PCAL champions in their second season as an official sport here at KCHS. 


November 4-10 is HOSA Future Health Professionals Spirit Week. Since its creation in 1976, HOSA has grown steadily reaching over 260,000 members through 54 chartered HOSA Associations in the United States, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Canada, and China.  Today is Medical Monday: HOSA students are dressed in the uniform of their favorite healthcare career.

10/23: Happy Red Ribbon Week! This year’s theme is Life Is a Movie, Film Drug Free. Staying drug free means investing in your current and future health. You don’t have to use drugs to fit in. There are other ways to belong. Celebrate your uniqueness and show it to the world!

Congratulations to our Girl's Golf Team for placing 3rd in the End-of-the-year Tournament! An incredible effort by the entire team!

A special shout-out to Mikayla Mclane for shooting a 113, securing a Top 3 finish in our division, and to Fatima Silva, who shot a 120 and placed in the Top 10!


Well done, ladies, and congratulations on an amazing season!

As you already know this week is Red Ribbon Week and the theme for this year is “Life Is a Movie, Film Drug Free.” The theme is a reminder that by staying drug free, you are sending a message to yourself and others about how much you value yourself, your overall health, your community, and your future. One thing is for sure... by making healthy choices, like staying drug free, you are much more likely to achieve your goals. So, aim for the stars! We believe in you!

Our girls’ golf team achieved the upset of the season last night, triumphing over both North Monterey County and Watsonville-two of the top three teams in our division. The Lady Mustangs secured first place in the tournament with a remarkable performance. A special shout-out goes to Mikayla McLane, who posted the tournament's lowest score with a 40! Congratulations to Anahi Martinez for her solid 48 and Alejandra Acero for her impressive 50. Well done, ladies!

Today we will be celebrating the end of Hispanic Heritage Month with a band, dancers and a sweet treat. Make sure you stick around the front office to enjoy the celebration.
